Once again, Canterbury was affected by steady rain during the morning and the decision was made at lunchtime to abandon the match.
Prospects of play for Thursday: It rained steadily from 9:00am to 2:00pm and as a consequence the outfield got a soaking. There is also a fair amount of water lying on top of the covers which needs to be removed before the covers can be taken off.
Following a 2:30pm inspection, the umpires have decided to re-inspect at 3:30pm.
After the 3:30pm inspection, the umpires have decided that no play would be possible today.
