Heavy rain in the west country meant no play was possible on day three of Kent“s LV= County Championship division one match against Somerset.

After dominating day one at Taunton, Kent were put on the back foot at the halfway stage. Indian spin bowler Murali Kartik recorded figures of 5-50 as the visitors were bowled out for 172. Going into the third day, Somerset had extended their lead to 161. However, the elements meant that Marcus Trescothick’s side were unable to build on that.
