Match Preview: Surrey vs. Kent Spitfires

The Kent Spitfires travel to South London on Tuesday looking to secure a win over their oldest rivals Surrey in the Vitality Blast.

After three wins in three games so far, the Spitfires head into this huge away tie, the first of three this week, in a good vein of form.

Last time out against the Essex Eagles, Kent batsman Heino Kuhn scored five successive fours in Kent’s final over on his way to 55 not out before taking a stunning catch to dismiss Varun Chopra, as Kent finished as 22-run winners in Canterbury.

Alex Blake and Mohammad Nabi both remain top of the Spitfires’ six hitting charts with four apiece, whilst fast bowler Hardus Viljoen moves up to joint-top wicket taker after two against Essex, now on six wickets from three games alongside Imran Qayyum.

In four games so far this tournament, Surrey have won one of their four games so far, losing two and tying away to Sussex Sharks.

Will Jacks is currently Surrey’s most successful batsman this tournament with 105 runs in four matches at 26.25, whilst Gareth Batty has taken eight wickets so far.

They currently sit fifth in the table on three points, whilst Kent remain at the top of the table on six.
