Match Preview: Women’s County T20 Finals Day

Kent Women will look to retain their Group 6 title of ECB’s Women’s County T20 as the Horses travel to Hampshire on Sunday 8 May.

Kent go into Finals Day in second position of the group stage, meaning a second semi-final against Hampshire is the first challenge for Dave Hathrill’s side.

The Horses will be able to call upon the captaincy of Grace Scrivens, who is currently the Group’s fourth highest run-getter with 146 runs in four innings at 36.75.

With the ball, 2021 Women’s Player of the Year Kalea Moore’s five wickets at 19.80 tops Kent’s wicket taking charts for players available for Finals Day, with selection a potential issue due to the start of the regional Charlotte Edwards Cup next week.

Kent Women’s Head Coach, Dave Hathrill, said: “We’ve put in some excellent performances on our way to Finals Day, with big wins against Hampshire and especially Surrey.

“We can draw upon our success last season as a motivator to retain our title – although we may not have the same squad as last year, this provides fantastic opportunity for the next generation of Kent Women title winners to emerge and create a legacy of silverware.

“I hope to see as many Kent supporters making the trip to Hampshire to cheer us on – we always value the fervent support of our Women’s team and it definitely makes a difference.”

Entry is free for all spectators at Totton & Eling CC (South Gardens, Ringwood Road, Totton, SO40 8RW), with Kent’s semi-final taking place at 13:30 and a potential final of 16:30.
