Match Report: Surrey Second XI vs. Kent Second XI
Set a challenging 203 to win their T20 Southern Group match, against Surrey Seconds, at New Malden, Kent’s Second XI fell just short of their target, losing by nine runs in a closely contested match.

Skipper Marcus O’Riordan scored 73 with 12 boundaries, but needed more support from the other batters as Kent left themselves needing 66 runs of the last five overs, and 17 runs off the final six deliveries, which proved too much with wickets falling, and the innings ended on 193 for 7.
Nathan Barnwell took 3 for 49 for Surrey Seconds and Ben Geddes 2 for 13. Earlier Geddes had produced the match winnings innings for the home side, who were 202 for 5 from their 20 overs, after plundering 132 runs from their second 10 overs, as the Kent bowlers wilted under the onslaught.
Geddes, who opened the Surrey innings, hit a brilliant 118 not out, getting the runs of just 61 deliveries, with 12 boundaries and six sixes. James Logan took 2 for 22, and trialist Will Sheffield, who previously played for Sussex in a Bob Willis Trophy match, 2 for 37.
