Michael Cohen joins Kent on two-year contract

Kent Cricket is delighted to announce the signing of left-arm quick Michael Cohen until at least the end of the 2025 season.
The 25-year-old fast bowler, who has previously played for Derbyshire in county cricket, has taken 68 first-class wickets in 22 matches so far in his career, averaging 26.13.
Cape Town-born Cohen, a former South Africa Under-19s, Western Province & Cape Cobras seamer, qualifies as a domestic player through residency.

He joins fellow new recruit George Garrett in bolstering Kent’s bowling attack ahead of the 2024 season.
On signing for Kent, Cohen said: “I am both excited and honoured to begin this next chapter of my career with Kent.
“Having already spent some time with management and the team, I’m eager to start squad Winter training and make the most of this amazing opportunity.
“Canterbury is a beautiful city and I look forward to making it my home.”
Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “Michael is a talented young bowler that will provide us with an extra dimension to our collective bowling unit, providing a different challenge for batters with his left-arm pace.
“This Winter our bowlers will be working hard in becoming a ruthless unit that is capable of consistently taking wickets – both Michael and George [Garrett] will fit nicely into our existing bowling core going into the new season.”
