Mitch Claydon loses on Super Smash debut

Kent seamer Mitch Claydon tasted defeat on his Georgie Pie Super Smash debut in New Zealand.

Defending a total of 139, Central Stags lost by seven wickets as the 32-year-old could not contain the batsman at the compact Pukekura Park ground.

Claydon ended with figures of 0-45 off three overs as Otago Volts smashed 74 off the first seven overs to gain control.

Earlier, the tailender scored three before being dismissed off the penultimate ball of the innings.
