Mitch Claydon took three wickets in the Georgie Pie Super Smash as Central Stags lost to Northern Knights in Hamilton.

The Knights won the toss and invited Stags to bat first with Mahela Jayawardene scoring 76 off 52 balls as they posted 170 for six in 20 overs.

Claydon, who celebrated his 33rd birthday this week, took 3/28 in four overs before the Knights reached the target with four balls to spare.

Stags sit fifth in the table after seven of ten scheduled games with the top three teams reaching the playoffs.
