Northants v Kent, LV= County Championship team news

Kent return to LV= County Championship action today with a match against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road.

A 13-man squad travels directly from the NatWest T20 Blast win at the Kia Oval on Friday night to the East Midlands.

Head coach Jimmy Adams said: “We’ve had some excellent performances and results in the NatWest T20 Blast but it’s vital we carry that momentum into the LV= County Championship while acknowledging the different demands of the four-day format.”

Kent squad: 17 Sam Northeast (c), 23 Daniel Bell-Drummond, 6 Joe Denly, 4 Rob Key, 3 Darren Stevens, 24 Adam Ball, 7 Ryan Davies (wk), 15 James Tredwell, 26 Matt Coles, 5 Ivan Thomas, 8 Mitch Claydon, 14 Matt Hunn, 33 Adam Riley.

Day one is due to start at noon, with days two to four scheduled to start at 11am.

Northamptonshire v Kent stats

•Kent have lost two of their last 17 trips to Northamptonshire (won five, drawn nine, tied one).

•Northamptonshire have drawn their last five home games; they have not drawn six in a row at home since 1985/86 (eight consecutive home draws).

•Darren Stevens is the only player to score 1,000+ runs and take at least 75 wickets since the start of last season.

•Steven Crook is one two players to score 200+ runs this season at an average over 20 and a strike rate over 100. Martin Guptill is the other.
