Over 2000 watch fireworks extravaganza!

Saturday 31st October 2009

Kent County Cricket Club would like to thank all the members and supporters that attended this year“s fireworks extravaganza. A crowd in excess of 2,000 turned up at the St Lawrence Ground to enjoy what was a fantastic all round evening.

The entertainment got underway at 6.00pm when Louis Hurst and Neil Redding, from KMFM, welcomed everyone to the event. Kent band “Billy Wears Dresses” then played a 30 minute set before some of the dads in the crowd made fools of themselves in the hilarious “Dad“s Can“t Dance” competition!

At 6.45 the “Da Capo Dance School” performed their set up on stage before more fun and entertainment with Louis and Neil.

The 20 minute fire display got underway at 8.15pm with the bumper crowd looking on in admiration. With star track themed music playing in the background, the watching crowd was silent as they admired the brilliant display.

Business Development Manager Sally Harrison played a key role in putting the event on and was delighted with how it went: “I would just like to thank the people of Kent for supporting our event. Over 2,000 spectators turned up and everyone went away happy. We received some wonderful feedback and it was very pleasing to be involved in such a well-run event. I would like to thank KMFM and Frontier Fireworks Ltd for their support throughout the event. It was comfortably our best fireworks event yet!”
