Pakistan coach: We’ll treat Kent match like Test

Pakistan head coach Micky Arthur said he was delighted to be in the Garden of England and said his squad will approach Saturday’s tour match at The Spitfire Ground like a Test match.

The South African, who has also coached the Australian and South African national teams, believes the four-day first class fixture is ideal preparation for Tests in Ireland and England.

The 49-year-old said: “The squad are very excited and they are ready to go. Kent are a team on the up. They are an exciting side and it’s going to be tough and we will play at the intensity required at international level.

“We want to keep climbing the ladder as a team and be a force on the international stage. A tour of England is fantastic and an amazing place to play cricket.”

Arthur declined to reveal his likely team selection but said there will be opportunities on the Tour for younger players to take a claim for Test selection.

Tickets cost £5 for under 16s and £15 for adults in advance (£10 and £20 each on the gate). Entry is included in All Rounder and Championship Plus Memberships and an option for Six Pack holders.
