Kent Women begin the defence of the South East Region of ECB’s Women’s County T20 competition with a trip to Wimbledon CC to take on Hampshire on Bank Holiday Monday, 18 April.

In last season’s tournament, Grace Scrivens finished as the South East Group’s top run-scorer with 191 runs in six matches, including an imperious 94* against Surrey at Chipstead.

Alice Davidson-Richards averaged 59.33 last season – an unbeaten 60 at Chelmsford forming a chunk of her 178 runs. Scotland international ‘keeper-batter Sarah Bryce also averaged over 40.00 in her six innings.

Off-spinners Kalea Moore took nine and Megan Belt took eight wickets apiece for The Horses – Moore had an impressive bowling strike-rate of a wicket every 12.75 balls, whilst Belt’s average was just 12.88.

England spinner Kirstie Gordon also took five wickets from 16 overs in total in the tournament, with an impressive economy of 5.50.

This year, the South East group of Kent, Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey will contest double-headed matchdays between 18 April & 2 May.

Kent Women’s Head Coach, Dave Hathrill, said: “We’re really excited to get going for the 2022 season.
