Rain halts play at Kent

Play was abandoned on day two of Kent's LV= County Championship Division Two home clash with Worcestershire after the weather permitted only 14 overs.

After bowling out their opponents for 258 on Sunday, the visitors made a solid start to their reply on Monday morning as captain Daryl Mitchell (24 not out) and Matthew Pardoe (20no) guided them to 48 without loss.

But rain then forced the players off just after midday, and a scheduled 1.50pm restart was subsequently scuppered by the wet conditions. Play was eventually called off around 4pm.
