Riley to skipper Second XI in Trophy opener

Adam Riley leads a strong 12-man squad for the opening 2018 Second XI Trophy match as Kent entertain Somerset at Polo Farm on Monday (23 April, 11am).

Five professionals, two academy scholars, a former academy scholar and three triallists make up the squad for the opening 50-over match of the competitive season.

Former MCC Young Cricketers Kashif Ali and Don Manuwelge will bat at the top of the order with opportunities for scholars past and present Ollie Hills, a left-arm seamer from The Mote and fast-bowling all-rounder Harsh Kumar.

Seamers Lee Tyrrell (Buckinghamshire), Miles Richardson (Sevenoaks Vine and Northants) and Louis Pickering (Upminster, Essex) earn another chance to impress the Kent coaches after successful pre-season trials.
