We are very sad to learn of the death of Bobby Neame, former President of Kent Cricket, and a long-standing member of the Kent Cricket Family.
Bobby served as President of the club in 2003. He had a lifelong love of the game of cricket at all levels: supporting the Club personally and through the family business, Shepherd Neame, who remain tireless supporters of cricket in Kent.
Bobby was also a great friend of recreational cricket in Kent, both playing and encouraging Kent’s leagues and clubs.
Everyone at Kent Cricket stands together in extending our condolences to Bobby’s widow, Yvonne, his family , friends and the staff at Shepherd Neame.
Chairman of Kent Cricket, Simon Philip said: “Bobby was a towering figure in Kent and a steadfast and enthusiastic supporter of Kent Cricket.
“We will miss him hugely and are committed to ensuring that we continue to build on his legacy across cricket in the county through our strong partnership with the Neame family and Shepherd Neame.”
There will be a private family funeral and memorial service in due course. The Club will announce the date once notified.
