Rouse to play for Sussex in tour match

Kent wicketkeeper Adam Rouse will join Sussex on loan for one game, as they take on Australia A in a four-day tour match starting this Sunday, 7th July.

As a result, Rouse will be unavailable for selection for Kent’s Specsavers County Championship tie against Surrey at the Kia Oval from Sunday 7th – Wednesday 10th July.

Rouse recently captained Kent Second XI to glory in the Second XI Trophy, defeating Durham Second XI by 16 runs in the final at The County Ground, Beckenham.

In this year’s Royal London One-Day Cup, he scored 111 runs in six innings, including 45 not out away at Gloucestershire on the 23rd of April.

Kent Cricket’s Director of Cricket, Paul Downton, said: “This is a great opportunity for Adam to get some match practice against high quality opposition as we head into a busy period of the season.”

England Lions will face a touring Australian Test warm-up side at The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence in July as the visitors gear up for the 2019 Specsavers Ashes Series against England
