Saggers presents the medals as the young Kent cricketers are honoured

Kent County Cricket Club would like to congratulate all their young cricketers for their fine performances during the 2009 season. The men and women won their respective LV County Championship titles but the success didn“t end there. Here is the roll of honour for the Kent Young Cricketers in 2009.

Kent has also had a number of players involved in a range of representative teams. These include the England Under 16 Development Squad, England Women Academy programme, London and East Regional teams at Under 17, Under 16 and Under 15 age groups and Junior Super 4s Competition. This is a tremendous achievement by all those involved and shows that in Kent there are players very well capable of progressing on the ECB elite player pathway.

Every KYC was invited to the club“s final game of the season, against Northants Steelbacks in the NatWest Pro40, and received their medals from retiring fast bowler Martin Saggers.

Commenting, Jamie Clifford, Director of Cricket Development with the Kent Cricket Board, said: “It is very important to celebrate the success and it has been another great season for all the boys and girls; throughout the various age groups. I“m sure these young players will remember their day in the spotlight for a long time to come.”
