Sandwich Tech and Sir Roger Manwood reach the Regional Finals

Thursday 25th February 2010

Kent County Cricket Club was delighted to play host to the recent Lady Taverners Indoor Schools Competitions. The two fantastic events attracted more than three times as many entries as in previous years; 17 school teams took part in the U13 competition with 15 entering at U15 level.

Sandwich Tech were successful in the U13 competition, beating Highworth 52 runs to 51 in the competition showpiece. They now represent Kent at the Regional Final (London and the East) on Wednesday, 21 April 2010 at Hertfordshire Sports Village, Hertford.

Joining them at the Regional Finals are Sir Roger Manwood. They beat Highworths 63 runs to 53 in the U15 competition and will hope to emulate their success when they go head-to-head with the other winners a day later.

Commenting on the successful two days, Heidi Coleman, Programmes Manager for the Kent Cricket Board said: "We were thoroughly delighted with the level of cricket on both days. These two competitions further illustrate the high standards that we set in Kent. I would like to thank every team that took part for helping to make things so successful. Hopefully Sandwich Tech and Sir Roger Manwood can now go on and achieve further success at their respective Regional Finals in April."
