Durham won the toss and elected to bat

Durham’s cricketers lead by 190 runs going into the final day of their second team friendly against a combined Kent and Essex side at Beckenham. Durham went into day three 276 runs behind on first innings but batted positively and aggressively to build a good lead.

The Kent bowlers struggled and spinner Rob Ferley (pictured) was the only one to take a wicket. The former Nottinghamshire left-armer returned figures of 1-131 while former Kent batsman Matt Walker took 1-14 with his part-time medium pace deliveries.
