As part of the two Clubs’ ongoing partnership, Kent Cricket representatives met with Tunbridge Wells Cricket Club at the Nevill last week. Both parties agreed that the playing surface and outfield conditions would not be suitable in time for the match due to begin on Monday.

The Nevill is also due to host Second XI T20s on Wednesday 5 June and Monday 10 June. The Club will be supporting Tunbridge Wells Cricket Club with pitch preparation in the build up to those matches.

Kent Cricket’s CEO, Simon Storey, said: “Tunbridge Wells Cricket Club is a really important hub for cricket in the West of the County.

“After the successful return of Kent Women, Boys and Girls County Age Group and Second XI cricket in recent years, it’s disappointing that we’ve had to move this first match. As weather conditions improve and as we provide additional support, we hope the situation will be resolved in time for the next scheduled matches.

“Longer term, we remain open to the return of Men’s and Women’s First XI cricket to the Nevill, and will continue to work closely with Tunbridge Wells Cricket Club & Tunbridge Wells Borough Council in supporting their efforts.”
