Kent Second XI headed to the Nevill Ground in Tunbridge Wells for a t20 double-header against Hampshire Second XI, which was free entry to Members & spectators.

In the two-match event, more than a hundred Members and supporters watched the side win the first fixture, by five wickets, and the second by 29 runs.

In the opening encounter, Hampshire Seconds made 141 for 8, Fletch Middleton top scoring with 32, three Kent bowlers, Jaydn Denly, Ekansh Singh and trialist Josh Seward, all took two wickets apiece. Seward, previously played for Cheshire, and Somerset Seconds.

Kent reached their winning total, 144 for 5, with nine deliveries to spare, with an excellent half century from Harry Finch, 54, with five boundaries, and 29 from Denly. Aakash Parmar 3 for 24.

In the Second match, Kent scored 129 for 8, Ben Compton 39, and Academy student Ben Dawkins, 28. Ethan Martin 3 for 14, Dominic Kelly 3 for 30.

Then some top class bowling saw Hampshire Seconds dismissed for exactly 100, in 18.4 overs, with a master class of seam bowling from Arafat Bhuiyan, 4 for 18, in four overs, and an impressive 3 for 17 from another trialist, Tommy Sturgess, who previously played for Cornwall.
