Stevens named Kent player of the year for 2010

Sunday 12th September 2010

All-rounder Darren Stevens has been named Kent player of the year for 2010, after an excellent season with both bat and ball.

The 34 year-old has hit four centuries this summer and is averaging more than 44 in First Class cricket – he is only 25 runs short of a thousand for the season, with this current LV= County Championship match against Yorkshire still to go.

Commenting on the award, Stevens said: "I am delighted to be named Kent player of the year. It means a lot because the members and supporters have voted for me. I would like to thank everyone for all of the backing I have received this year.”
