Stonehouse earns maiden Hundred contract

Kent Women left-armer Alexa Stonehouse will feature for Trent Rockets in The Hundred this year, after The Hundred Draft took place ahead of the 2022 season.
The Horses’ Young Player of the Year for 2021 joins the team based at Trent Bridge after also having earned a contract with regional side South East Stars during the 2021 season, making her stars debut at the same ground that June.
Elsewhere, Kent Women captain Tammy Beaumont will join up with Horses batter-wicketkeeper Sarah Bryce at Welsh Fire, whilst Daniel Bell-Drummond moves from Birmingham Phoenix to London Spirit to link up with Vitality Blast-winning opening partner Zak Crawley, and both Jack Leaning & Matt Milnes joins Sam Billings & Jordan Cox at Oval Invincibles.
Beaumont will captain her new side, based at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. On this, the England batter said: “I’m beyond excited to be leading Welsh Fire this Summer.
“I loved my time with London Spirit but the opportunity to captain Welsh Fire was something I couldn’t turn down.
“We are building a really talented squad, full of world class players and we can’t wait to get out in front of our amazing fans in Cardiff and put on a show.”
Beaumont and Bryce will be joined by former Kent Women batter Fran Wilson in Wales.
