Unite for Access Campaign Day 2026

Thursday 17th September 2026

Kent Cricket

On Sunday 6 September, the Kent community came together to ‘Unite for Access’ in partnership with national charity, Level Playing Field.

Level Playing Field’s aim is to create an equal and positive experience for disabled sports fans by supporting live sport venues to be more inclusive and accessible. The Unite for Access campaign celebrates good inclusive practice in live sport venues and champions the stories of disabled fans as they engage with the sport they love.

We were joined on the day by Level Playing Field’s Access and Development Officer, Nicky Baker, who enjoyed Kent Women’s emphatic win over Leicestershire while chatting with disabled fans in attendance and checking out the facilities we are able to offer our supporters with access needs, such as our access viewing platform, wheelchair charging points and Changing Places Toilet.

Reflecting on the day, Nicky said:

“It was a pleasure to join everyone, as spectators, staff and players all came together, to Unite For Access. There was so much enthusiasm in the ground, as we put access and inclusion in the spotlight.

“The campaign is such a strong vehicle to start conversations about disability and that will continue to have a positive impact, beyond the matchday itself.”

Kent Cricket Foundation’s Inclusion Officer, Gabriella Rolls, also highlighted the potential of access and inclusion to go beyond the matchday, with the Foundation holding inclusive cricket and boccia sessions in the Ames Levett Indoor School during the innings break, and Disability Cricket’s Super 1s participants forming the Guard of Honour at the start of the match:

“It was fantastic to see the Kent community come together to celebrate inclusive sport and the ability of everyone to enjoy engaging with sport, whether that be watching or playing.

“We had some great fun playing adapted cricket games and boccia during the break, all capped off by an excellent Kent win! I would like to thank the women’s team for getting behind the campaign and helping bring inclusion to the forefront of people’s minds”

Kent Cricket and the Kent Cricket Foundation are proud to welcome everyone to our grounds to see Kent in action! If you have access needs and have any questions about your matchday experience, please contact Feedback@kentcricket.co.uk or 01227 456886.
