Update on McCarthy and Stone development at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence

Work has started to secure the area where the McCarthy & Stone retirement apartments will be constructed on the Old Dover Road side of The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

Green hoardings have been erected up around the area andprotect a larger area than the footprint of the buildingto ensure public safety and access to the site.

The Club is waiting for confirmation of the start date for construction but we will keep members and supporters updated as the project moves forward. It is expected that the construction will continue into 2017.

As part of our agreement with the contractors, no major works will be undertaken on matchdays.

On-ground parking is available for 2016 season parking pass holders, blue-badge holders can park for £15 per day.

Parking is available at the nearby Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School to 2016 pass holders. Without the pass, you can park for £10 per day, subject to weather conditions and school operations.

Supporters are reminded of the great value Park and Ride service at New Dover Road (CT1 3EJ) for £3 per vehicle with a shuttle bus stopping outside the ground before and after all matchdays.

There’s still lots of green space for supporters and families to enjoy around The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence with access to the outfield during intervals on most matchdays.
