Player Biography

Alex Gidman was appointed as the Club’s Men’s Batting Coach in February 2023.

Gidman joined Kent following a four-year stint as Head Coach at Worcestershire County Cricket Club that included winning the 2018 Vitality Blast, after a 15-year playing career at both Worcestershire & Gloucestershire, captaining the Bristol-based side for five years.

Brother of former Kent cricketer Will, Gidman made over 500 appearances in his professional career, including 194 County Championship matches scoring over 11,000 runs, before retiring in February 2016.

He left his post of Men’s Batting Coach at the Club to become England Women’s Assistant Coach in October 2023.
