Sevenoaks Vine, 2025 Women’s League Champions

Tuesday 9th September 2025

Sevenoaks Vine are crowned champions, having finished top of the Premiership Division in the Kent Women’s Leagues for 2025.

This was the club’s first season in the top women’s league, having been promoted from Division One in 2024. The positive development and recruitment at the club has seen them produce some consistently strong performances and finish with 8 wins from 12 league games.

Sevenoaks finished off their season with a title deciding match against Tunbridge Wells women. This confirmed their status as KWPL Premiership Champions, for which they were awarded the annual KWPL League Shield, passed on by last year’s league champions, The Mote Women’s 1st XI.

On Sunday 7th September, the Kent Women’s Premier League Finals were held, featuring Sevenoaks Vine Women, competing against Sussex Champions Horsham, to see who would progress to the Regional Finals. In addition, on the bottom pitch, Mersham Sports Club (who finished top of Division One) played league runners up Hayes to determine the overall Division One Champion.

Sevenoaks Vine narrowly missed qualifying for the Southern Counties Women’s Regional Club Finals after losing to Horsham Cricket Club in the final over. Sevenoaks Vine batted first with Chloe Selvey-Clinton and Ruby Marriage opening the batting and putting on an opening partnership of 179 runs with 22 fours between them. Chloe was then dismissed for 68 runs in the 33rd over, where Ruby kept battling before being dismissed with the top score of 113 runs for the day. Sevenoaks finished their 40 over innings on 221 for 5, with a flurry of quick wickets in the last 5 overs. Horsham bowler Flora Bertwistle finished with top bowling figures of 3 for 43.

In the second innings, Horsham CC’s first wicket fell in the fourth over to the bowling of Lucy Webb after a rapid start, leaving them 32 for 1. A couple more wickets fell before Alice and Izi Noakes steadied the boat and started scoring, hitting ten 4’s and three 6’s between them. Alice and Izi’s partnership of 103 runs from 107 balls put Horsham slightly ahead of Sevenoaks Vine. The fall of Izi Noakes wicket on the 32nd over left Horsham with 50 runs to get in the last 8 overs. Emily James came in and continued where Izi left off, scoring 33 runs off 27 balls and helping Horsham to victory with just 5 balls left.

In Division One of the Kent Women’s Premier League, it was Hayes who won the head to head match with Mersham Sports Club and claimed the Division One title.

Hayes CC fielded first and put Mersham in to bat. Rachel Stevens opened the batting with Isobel Jones and oversaw a steady start, with Mersham 42 for 1 off 15 overs. Stevens was the eventual top scorer with 29 runs, Olivia Dungate-Marsh the next best with 22 runs and Mersham finished their 30 overs on 120 for 8.

Hayes CC started their innings strongly, picking the gaps around the field nicely, before Aanya Rastogi was caught by Samantha Saunders off her own bowling for 22 runs. Zoe Hainsworth kept the scoring ticking over, hitting 61 not out with ten 4’s. With Zoe steering from the front, Hayes were able to chase down Mersham’s total in just 19.4 overs, reaching 121 for 2 and taking the title of Division One Champions.

Congratulations to both Sevenoaks Vine and Hayes Cricket Clubs for their league titles in 2025.
