Ekansh Singh in England Lions’ Caribbean white-ball tour squad
Friday 16th October 2026

Kent talent Ekansh Singh has been named in England Lions’ T20 and 50-over squads for next month’s tour of the Caribbean.
20-year-old Singh is a part of both squads that will play West Indies A in three T20s and five 50-over matches in St Kitts and Nevis.
The all-rounder’s continued development this past Summer was recognised with his first two appearances for the Lions, where he scored 95 against South Africa A at The County Ground, Beckenham this May.
He was named as Kent Men’s Young Player of the Year at the 2026 Spitfire Kent Cricket End of Season Awards, after scoring over 350 runs and taking 18 wickets across all formats for his home county. He made his T20 Blast debut for Kent on 10 July 2026 against Surrey.
Singh will travel to the Caribbean under the stewardship of former Kent batting coach Jonathan Trott, who embarks on his first Lions series as Head Coach.
Thomas Rew and Dan Lawrence will each captain the Lions in an official match for the first time. Rew, 18, will lead the T20 team while Dan Lawrence will be in charge for the five-match 50-over series.
Rew captained the Young Lions to the final of the ICC Men’s U19s World Cup earlier this year and has been called into the England Men’s squad for the T20 series in Australia.
Rew, Eddie Jack and James Coles will fly out for that series after the Lions’ third match of their 50-over series in St Kitts and Nevis.
The two squads include nine players who were announced amongst the new Central Contracts earlier this week. Rehan Ahmed, Sam Cook and Lawrence are on full Central Contracts with Mason Crane, Eddie Jack, Ben McKinney, Liam Patterson-White as well as Coles and Rew on Development Deals.
Worcestershire’s Adam Finch is the one uncapped Lions player in the squad.
England Lions Head Coach, Jonathan Trott, said: “I’m excited to get to work with a hugely talented group of players starting with this white-ball tour of the Caribbean.
“I’ve spoken about how important the Lions was in my career and now it’s my role to help prepare younger players for what lays ahead of them in international cricket.
“I also want to create a culture where England players will benefit from coming back and working in this environment to push for national team selection across formats and by performing and helping the Lions to win games of cricket.
“This squad has a mix of Centrally Contracted and Development Contract players which reflects some of the highest performing and most precious talent around the game.”
