Blake impresses with bat and ball in T20 warm-ups

Kent second XI beat Netherlands A in two T20 friendlies at Polo Farm on Tuesday ahead of the NatWest T20 Blast, which starts on Sunday 9 July.

The entire Kent line-up except one player scored at a run-a-ball or more in both matches.

In the first match Alex Blake smashed five fours and two sixes in a cameo of 34 off just 14 balls.

Zak Crawley top-scored with 42 off 30 including six boundaries and Adam Ball hit 34 off 26 as Kent posted 192 for five.

In reply, Ball and Calum Haggett each struck once with the new ball before left-arm spinner Imran Qayyum picked up 2/10 in four tidy overs including two LBWs as Kent cantered home by 65 runs.

In the second match, Kent posted 203 for six inspired by an opening stand of 92 by Calum Haggett (38 off 22) and Geremy Fatouros (71 off 39).

Zak Crawley (34 off 20) and Alex Blake (31 off 20) also impressed to push Kent beyond 200.

In reply, spin prevailed as Imran Qayyum (2/19) and James Tredwell (2/19) bowled tidy four-over spells before Alex Blake’s off spin cleaned up the tail with 4/21.
