Denly returns but England lose latest match and the series

Kent opener Joe Denly (pictured)returned to the England side but he couldn“t prevent another defeat as Australia secured an unassailable 4-0 lead in the seven-match one-day series with a commanding seven-wicket victory at Lord’s.

Skipper Andrew Strauss hit 63 and Denly 11 before he edged Brett Lee to Cameron White at slip. Pace-bowler Lee continued his good recent form with 5-49 as England were dismissed for just 220; the last five wickets falling for 20 runs in just 21 balls.

In reply, wicketkeeper Tim Paine scored a maiden ODI fifty and vice captain Michael Clarke a stylish 62 as the win arrived with more than six overs to spare.

England will look to register their first win of the series in the next match at Trent Bridge, a day/night game on Thursday.
