Kent Cricket completes the loan signing of opening batsman Scott Newman

Kent County Cricket Club has today agreed a two-month loan signing of 32 year old Middlesex opening batsman Scott Newman.

The left hander made his county debut for Surrey in 2002 before moving to Middlesex in 2009. In his 10 seasons of county cricket he has scored 8415 first class runs at an average of 38.77 and has scored 16 hundreds.

Commenting on his move to Kent, Newman said: "I am really pleased to be joining Kent for the opening months of the season. I look forward to hopefully playing regular first team cricket and contributing to a successful start to 2012 for the Club."

Kent's Head Coach, Jimmy Adams, added: "We are really pleased that the agreement for the loan has been reached with Middlesex and we now hope that Scott will do very well for Kent. He will join us for pre-season when the squad returns from Antigua and remain with the squad for the whole of April and May."
