Kent Spitfires put in a strong performance on Friday night under the floodlights at the St Lawrence Ground. The Spitfires eased their way to an eight wicket win over Essex Eagles, thanks to superb batting from Joe Denly (20), Rob Key (75) and Azhar Mahmood (50 not out), with 13 balls to spare.
Sunday’s match is crucial for the Spitfires as they strive for a place in the Friends Life t20 quarter finals. The Spitfires are currently in joint third position in the South Group table, alongside both Sussex and Essex. The Spitfires are on good form, having won their last four home matches.
