Kent Thwarted by Heavy Rain

Saturday 28th April 2012

Men’s First Team

Play was abandonned for the day shortly before 4pm. It had been raining heavily at the St Lawrence Ground since 12.30pm.

Some play was possible on Saturday – after a delayed start – enough time for both sides to pick up a bonus point, with the Kent score on 350 for 9. Kent swiftly added 34 runs to their overnight score to go to 350 but in so doing 3 wickets were lost which gave Yorkshire a bowling bonus point.

Kent will feel hugely frustrated for the second time in a month. The season opener against Yorkshire at Headingley was also weather affected, a game in whcih Kent were also in a dominant position.

Information about the prospects of play for Sunday will be posted here tomorrow morning.
