Ladies Day deemed a success with plenty of nice hats on show!

Wednesday 5th August 2009

KENT County Cricket Club would like to thank everyone that took part in today“s Ladies Day Hat Competition. Hundreds of the fairer sex looked resplendent in their hats and the competition was typically fierce.

The lead judge was Mrs Barbara Openshaw, wife of our President Carl Openshaw. At first she whittled the entries down to 15 and then selected a top three.

After lots of deliberation, Vikki Cook was awarded the winner and received £200 worth of Whitefriars Shopping Centre vouchers, a bouquet of flowers and a certificate of achievement.

Kent“s Director of Business Development, Jamie Clifford, said: “Ladies Day was a great success. An excellent crowd enjoyed a good day of cricket and it was great to see so many ladies. The game is well set-up and day three promises to be fantastic, I would urge as many fans as possible to join us at the St Lawrence Ground. Canterbury Week is an iconic sporting event and we have lots to look forward to on Friday.”

A reminder that Friday is Family Day and entry is free for children. We even have a giant Scalextric for the youngsters to have a go at!
