Robinson wins Kent league award

Kent Cricket Academy graduate Ollie Robinson was named Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League young player of the year.

The 18-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman was recognised after an outstanding season for Premier League champions Beckenham.

Robinson, who signed his first professional contract last month, received the award from Kent Cricket president and former all-rounder Charlie Rowe at the annual awards dinner in Maidstone.

Clubmate Will MacVicar won the bowling and overall Player of the Year prize. Blackheath’s James Hands won cricketer of the year and Jack Wheeler of Broadstairs won the wicketkeeping prize.

Kent captain Sam Northeast, CEO Jamie Clifford and community cricket director Andy Griffiths were also in attendance to present awards.
