Second XI lose T20s to experienced Glos side

The second XI lost two close contests in a rain-affected T20 double-header at Bristol.

In the first match, Adam Ball top-scored with 27 in a curtailed eight-over match as the hosts clinched a six-wicket win thanks to 22 from Chris Dent and Gareth Roderick’s 26 not out.

Charlie Hartley took 1/7 in a fine two-over spell and there were wickets for Grant Stewart, Adam Ball and academy scholar Jan Gray.

In the second match, Hartley took 3/20 in three overs after Adam Ball invited the hosts to field.

Stewart, academy scholar Ollie Hills and triallist Ben Manenti took two wickets each with Adam Riley taking the other wicket.

Academy scholar Jordan Cox took four catches as only Graeme van Buuren passed 20 as Glos were dismissed for 114.

In reply, Joe Weatherley (27) and Adam Ball (21) shared the only substantial partnership as Kent fell six runs short of the victory target.
