WW Martin Walk to School Mascot competition

Metro Bank One Day Cup

Kent Cricket major sponsors WW Martin are running a special competition for the chance to be the mascot at the Royal London One-Day Cup match against Somerset at The Spitfire Ground.

The Kentish constuction company, whose logo appears on our One-Day Cup shirt, is offering schoolchildren who take part in the KM Charity Team’s Walk to School scheme a chance to be the club’s mascot on Tuesday 29 May.

The winning child will receive tickets to the match, a signed bat, a Samurai Sportswear shirt and accompany the captains to toss the coin to decide who bats first in the match.

WW Martin is working with the KM Charity Team to support and promote the countywide initiative that encourages families to stay healthy, be kind to the environment, and be physically active in the way children travel to school.

Neil Peck, Director of WW Martin, said: “We are pleased and proud to be able to support the Walk to School campaign and use our links to Kent Spitfires to help encourage more schools to become involved with this important initiative.”

Schools using the award-winning green travel scheme simply need encourage families to switch from the school-run to walking, cycling, using scooters or park and ride this month to be in with a chance at winning.

The class that is top or most improved in the county will earn an entry voucher for every pupil and one of the winning class would be named as club mascot for a day enabling their family to visit The Spitfire Ground at Canterbury.

Joining WW Martin in supporting Active Wow are County Championship tournament sponsors Specsavers and Kent community cricket sponsors Countrystyle Recycling.
