Crawley in squad to face Essex Eagles in One-Day Cup (Wed, 1.30pm)

Batsman Zak Crawley could make his pro debut in the Royal London One-Day Cup day-night match at The Spitfire Ground against Essex on Wednesday (1.30pm).

The 19-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate, who scored a second XI century last week, will get an opportunity to impress against the South group table-toppers in the first Mike Denness Challenge Shield match of 2017.

Essex hold the trophy dedicated to the memory of the former Kent and Essex batsman and contested in matches between the clubs across all formats.

Left-arm spinner Imran Qayyum could make his English domestic one-day debut after a five-wicket haul in the Second XI Championship win against Sussex last week.

Former England Test captain Alastair Cook is in a 14-man Essex squad.
