Claydon: The group is so tight

Mitch Claydon says there is still room for improvement as Kent Spitfires aim to move up the NatWest T20 Blast group table.

The fast bowler conceded just 25 runs in a fine four-over spell to stem the flow of runs in Thursday’s win against Somerset.

The Spitfire Man of the Match said: “It goes one of two ways in T20: you either go round the park or pick up a wicket or two.

“To bowl through the middle period is easier as you have five people [fielders] out.

“It was a massive win. The group is so tight. If you win three out of four games, you’ll be near the top.

“There are some good sides in this competition. Every side has power and good bowling so hopefully we can get a bit of momentum and win two or three games now.”

With games in hand on their rivals, Kent take on Glamorgan and Sussex at The Spitfire Ground on Sunday (30 July) and Friday (4 August).
