Riley relishes Tour after busy winter

Spinner Adam Riley says he is pleased a busy winter is bearing fruits after taking three wickets on his first appearance on the FGS Plant Tour.
The Kent Cricket Academy graduate was the pick of the attack in tricky conditions in North Sound, Antigua.

The off-spinner said: “Bowling at the Sir Viv ground can be a bit quirky as there is such a crosswind blowing throughout the day.
“It feels almost impossible to hit boundaries on one side of the ground so the bowlers have to think on their feet with the fields they set which we’ve generally got right so far.
“This winter I’ve done a lot of work at the indoor centre at The County Ground, Beckenham with Min Patel running some high quality sessions.
“I spent a week in Mumbai with Zak Crawley in early December getting some outdoor practice which broke the winter up nicely.”
The 25-year-old says the Caribbean trip is a good springboard for the Kent squad with the county season only two months away.
“The FGS Plant Tour is a fantastic chance to play some competitive cricket and build confidence going into the start of the season.
“We’re a lot more confident of reaching the semis which is reflected in the performance.
