Close, Day One: Leicestershire 257, Kent 47-3

Leicestershirewon the toss and elected to bat. Wahab Riaz made 4 for 96 and James Tredwell 3 for 42 on day one of Kent’s County Championship match at Grace Road. By late afternoon, Leicestershire were all out for 257, which included two half centuries from Wayne White and Claude Henderson.

Kent had an unfortunate start to their innings; Nathan Buck (2 for 16) took Rob Key's wicket for no score before bowling Joe Denly (31). Sam Northeast had also gone for no score, having been caught by Matthew Boyce. Kent closed on 47 for 3, with Martin Van Jaarsveld on 13 not out.
