SUGABABES and James Morrison to play Canterbury as Club announces two concerts

Kent County Cricket Club is delighted to announce its latest high profile double signing. Hot on the heels of Australian fast bowling legend Stuart Clark come two musical giants. Sugababes – the UK’s most successful girl group – and Brit Award winner James Morrison will both play Canterbury this June.

The glamorous Sugababes, who have sold more than two million singles, will appear on Friday 26 June and James Morrison – the biggest selling British male solo artist in 2006 – appears on Saturday 27 June. Tickets have gone on sale today and both nights are expected to sell out.

And further exciting news on support acts for both concerts will follow shortly.

Kent Director of Operations Jon Fordham said: ’We are delighted to beat off a whole host of competition to bring two fantastic musical acts to Canterbury. James’s reputation as a must see live performer ensures that he will bring a great following, whilst the Sugababes are a show-stopping live act and they too will prove immensely popular. Sir Elton John was our first concert here at Kent County Cricket Club back in 2006 and he performed to a capacity crowd. Now, three years on, we are confident that both concerts will fill our ground.’

Malcolm Spencer, from SquareLeg Entertainment Ltd, who has helped the Club put together the concerts added: ’Both the Sugababes and James Morrison are delighted to be playing Kent County Cricket Club. The St Lawrence Ground is a fantastic setting for a music concert and I fully expect both nights to sell out. It’s not often that you get two massive acts playing in the highly picturesque county of Kent, so I am confident that people of all ages will support and attend these events.’
