Kent name squad to face Northants in LV= CC match at the St Lawrence Ground

Kent, unbeaten in all cricket in 2012, welcome Northamptonshire to the St Lawrence Ground for their latest LV= County Championship fixture; and with the weather forecast looking better, Rob Key’s side will be looking to maintain their division two promotion charge.

Jimmy Adams has named a 12 man squad ahead of the match, which sees the return of Matt Coles to the Kent side, after taking six wickets against the West Indians last week for the England Lions.

Coles replaces the promising Ivan Thomas in the Kent line-up. Azhar Mahmood is still on IPL duty, with the Kings XI Punjab and Ashley Shaw is still sidelined after shin surgery.

Awful recent weather has ensured a spate of draws across championship cricket, in recent weeks, but Kent look nicely poised in third place – just nine points behind front-runners Derbyshire. This week’s visitors lie in seventh, after claiming just one win from their opening five games, and are 17 points behind Kent.

Kent also have one win to go with four draws, but they will be looking for a repeat performance as that victory came against Northants at Wantage Road, earlier this season.
