Support acts named for our major summer concerts

Wednesday 13th May 2009

KENT County Cricket Club is pleased to announce the support acts for its two prestige summer concerts, Sugababes and James Morrison. DJ Ironik (pictured)– who is currently number three in the UK charts with his latest single, Tiny Dancer, will play as a warm-up act for the glamorous Sugababes on Friday, 26 of June.

Then, on Saturday 27, Vagabond and the Martin Harley Band will support James Morrison. Vagabond is making a big impact on the music world with The Guardian newspaper claiming ‘they could be the world“s biggest new band“. Martin Harley is a contemporary singer/songwriter and front man for the band. They recently played the Royal Albert Hall opening for James Morrison and come to Kent with a glowing reputation.

Kent“s Director of Operations Jon Fordham said: ‘We naturally want to make major successes of both nights so we have worked hard to create the perfect evening for both Friday and Saturday. We have attracted some fantastic acts and I genuinely feel that the people who come along will get value for money. Elton John was a tremendous success back in 2006 and now, with the lineups complete, I feel the offering we have put together for 2009 will ensure that we pack out the St Lawrence Ground on both nights.“
