Glamorgan v Kent: Riley shines before Key ton helps build lead

Kent outplayed Glamorgan on day two as they built a commanding lead in the LV= County Championship match at Cardiff.
Rob Key led the way with his second century in successive games, while Daniel Bell-Drummond and Joe Denly gave him solid support with two fifties.
England Lions off-spinner Adam Riley capped his return to the first XI with four wickets as Glamorgan were dismissed for 207, a deficit of 102.
Only Graham Wagg and to a lesser extent, Craig Meschede were able to counter the Kent attack.
Glamorgan resumed their first innings on 65 for 4, but lost a wicket to the second ball of the morning when Andrew Salter had his off stump removed by Darren Stevens who then bowled Aneurin Donald.
When Chris Cooke was caught behind off Matt Hunn for 31, Glamorgan had slumped to 101 for 7, and required a further 59 runs to avoid the follow on.
This was avoided as Wagg and Meschede counter attacked to share 57 for the eighth wicket before 23-year-old Riley wrapped up the innings, ending with 4-47.
Key and Bell-Drummond started in style, scoring at a rate of five runs an over, quickly passing 50 and 100 before Bell Drummond, who made 54, was caught at slip pushing forward to Salter’s arm ball.
Key played every ball on its merit, and reached his 54th first-class century from 167 balls which included eight boundaries.
Denly passed 900 Championship runs for the season in reaching his eight red-ball 50 of 2015 from 99 balls in the same over as Key celebrated his ton.
The second wicket pair will resume their partnership of 142 on Friday, with Key undefeated on 117 and Denly 66 not out.
