Kent Women skittle champions Yorkshire at Harrogate

Spinner Megan Belt took five wickets in five overs as Kent Women skittled 2015 champions Yorkshire for 54 to wrap up a 152-run win in Harrogate.

The hosts won the toss and inserted Kent in cloudy conditions in the Royal London One-Day Women’s County Championship.

Several Kent players got a start with Suzie Bates (37) and Tammy Beaumont (47) putting on 87 for the first wicket.

Skipper Charlotte Edwards (34) and an unbeaten 35 for Alice Davidson-Richards helped the visitors pass 200 and gain maximum batting points.

Tash Farrant and Charlotte Pape used the new ball well and accounted for openers Lauren Winfield and Holli Armitage as well as Teresa Graves to reduce the White Rose county to 16-3.

England all-rounder Danni Hazell carried home hopes for a revival but Megan Belt came into the attack to dismiss partners Good and Poulter in successive balls before removing Martinus in her following over.

Kent and England all-rounder Laura Marsh removed international colleague Hazell for 18 and helped Belt mop up the tail to seal maximum points.
