The eagerly awaited fixtures for the 2011 season have now been released and Kent County Cricket Club starts with a trip to Chelmsford, to play old rivals Essex, in the LV= County Championship, beginning on Friday April 8.

Kent, who will be looking for an instant return to the first division of the LV= County Championship, play their first home match against Gloucestershire at the St Lawrence Ground, starting on April 26. Tunbridge Wells festival week starts on Sunday, May 29, with a four day Championship fixture against Leicestershire and runs for six days during the school half-term. After the successes of last year, the Nevill Ground also hosts two Friends Provident t20 fixtures in 2011; against Somerset and Hampshire – the winners and runners-up in the 2010 season. There will also be two FP t20 matches at Beckenham; including the popular fixture against the Surrey Lions on Sunday, June 26. For the first time ever, the Club will have permanent floodlights at Canterbury and there will be three t20 fixtures under the St Lawrence lights. Canterbury Cricket Week takes place a week later this year and begins with a home match against Surrey on Wednesday, August 10. It is the start of 10 days of cricket in a two-week spell; including two four-day matches and a one-day fixture against the Netherlands in the CB40.

The Club has also been awarded a one-day match against the Indian touring side. This will be played under lights at Canterbury on Friday, August 26. The regular domestic season concludes with a home LV= County Championship match against Glamorgan; starting on Monday, September 12.

The timing of the 2011 fixtures gives Kent members and supporters just over two weeks to take advantage of the Club“s special Early Bird packages, newly introduced to appeal to all. People have until December 31 to benefit from a variety of discounted packages. At the end of the year, the Early Bird specials end and all offerings go up 10% to their normal prices.
