Kent spinner Adam Riley has won the Brian Johnston Memorial Trust (BJMT) Spin Bowling Award after a fine first full season in county cricket.
The charity, set up in memory of the late BBC broadcaster, supports the ECB spin bowling programme which has supported nearly 250 young spin bowlers over the past four years.
The programme has seen 20 players including Riley progress to play first XI county cricket.
Before flying out to Sri Lanka to take part in the England Performance Programme this winter, Riley said: "I'd like to thank the Trust for all the support I've had with coaching and guidance at Kent and during my time at Loughborough University.
"I'm looking forward to going away with England and continuing my development."
The BJMT Elite Spin Bowling Programme is provided to all Counties and at the MCC Universities with coaching from Min Patel at Kent and at Loughborough Uni with Carl Crowe.
The 22-year-old was named the bestoutstanding spin bowler of the year who has been on the programme in 2014 after 69 wickets in all competitions for Kent and Loughborough MCCU.
As well as the spin scheme, the Trust provides scholarships for male and female cricketers. Current scholars include Kent Under-13 wicketkeeper Jordan Cox and Kent and England Under-19 bowler Charlotte Pape.
