AGM audience told Clark to sign

Tuesday 17th March 2009

ALMOST 200 members attended the Annual General Meeting of Kent County Cricket Cub last night with excellent and sometimes highly amusing exchanges between the floor and the top table – particularly over playing issues.

Carl Openshaw was formally announced as the 2009 President of the Club, whilst outgoing President Peter Morgan was elected to the Committee for the first time. John Clark and Richard Collins were re-elected and all three will serve three year terms.

During his customary highly informative presentation on cricketing matters, Chairman of Cricket Graham Johnson confirmed that Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark will be joining the Club as overseas player until the beginning of June.

’Stuart is a tremendous character and has a great record. He is a genuine wicket-taker and will bring a great amount to the side.’ said Johnson.

Clark claimed 26 wickets at an average of 17.03 in Australia’s 5-0 whitewash of England in 2006-07.
