Indian International cricketer Arshdeep Singh who is currently playing for Kent in the County Championship took time out of his busy schedule to visit the Gravesend Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara on Wednesday 5 July.

The visit was facilitated by Cohesion Plus and saw Arshdeep take a tour of the largest Sikh Gurdwara in Europe, meeting with local congregation members and community figureheads.

Gurvinder Sandher MBE DL, Artistic Director of Cohesion Plus said: “We are really proud of the working relationship we have developed with Kent Cricket which is providing opportunities for young people across the borough to play and enjoy the sport.

“As part of this partnership it was great to host Arshdeep in Gravesham who is a great role model and inspiration for many.  It was amazing to see the reaction he got when people realized it was him visiting the Gurdwara.”

Arshdeep Singh commented: “I am excited to play for Kent and have greatly enjoyed the experience to date.

“The visit to the Gurdwara in Gravesend was extra special to me as a proud Sikh, I was humbled by the warm welcome I received from the local community and hope that the good work that Kent are doing with the local communities continues in the future.”
